My kids have finally wore out the remote control that came with our original single input DVR unit from Dish Network. Is there a universal remote that is cheaper than $50 that works with these DVR recievers?

I have called Dish and they quoted me a $59 price tag.

In the reviews of the Phillips universal remote on Amazon, almost everyone said they couldn't get it to work with their DVR.

Thank you for all your help!

The only thing I found that would support the DISH DVR is the Logitec Harmony remote. The cheapest is about $100, but it's awesome.

Yes, Philips has a universal learning remote that supports the Dish DVR. On the web it can be found for less than $15.

I work for Dish and you can either get a new remote for $19 + s&h or you can purchase a protection plan for $5.99 a month that will cover all of your equipment replacement costs and free shipping. Call Dish for details.
