The easiest way to do this problem and to understand it is first solve for "x". You know that 3x = 2 Solve for "x" by dividing both sides by "3" to get "x" by itself. If you do that you are left with the equation x = 2/3 You now know that x = 2/3 so pulg in "2/3" in the equation 18x = 12 You multiply 18 by 2/3 which gives you 12.

One way is to set up proportions, to fractions that are equal. 3/2=18/12. Then you look at the numerator, the top number of a fraction, and find what you do to the smaller number to make it equal the larger number. Here you multiply 3 times 6 to equal 18. Now what you do to the numerator you have to do to the denominator, to bottom number of a fraction. Since you multiplied the numerator by 6 you have to multiply the denominator by 6. 2 times 6 equals 12. Hope this helps. Don't give up.

OK WHAT WOULD GO INTO BOTH 3 & 2 WELL LETS SEE IT WOULD BE 6 CORRECT.. AND THEN 6 TIMES 3 = 18 AND 6 TIMES 2 = 12.... SO NOW IM GOING TO TALK YOU THROUGH YOU GOT 18... YOU (GOT 3X=2 AND 18X 12) SO YOU WOULD COME UP WITH 6 THEN 18 DIVIDED BY 18 IS 3X SO THEN 12 DIVIDED BY 2 = 6 SO THATS HOW YOU GOT 3X=2 AND 18X=12 IF YOU STILL DONT GET IT EMAIL ME OR IM ME
