My ferret bites me a lot. In fact, too much. I don't know how to get him to stop! I've tried telling him no, but he just keeps on doing it no matter what I say. I was told when I got him to NEVER hit him so I never struck him even when he broke the skin. So if you're one of those sick pet abusers, I don't want your opinion because I'm not going to hit him in any way. I love my ferret, and I'm not going to get rid of him either. Oh and he's grown so it's not a kit thing he's going to grow out of. How do I get him to stop???

Whoever said for me to get a real pet - what is your example of a real pet? Cats pee on your carpet. Dogs smell like poop. All pets have some kind of smell so whatever you say... because ferrets are the best pets ever dude!!! Plus that didn't even answer my question!!

Go to the pet store and buy a bitter apple spray or a "no bite" spray. Put this on your hands and anywhere your ferret likes to bite you. Also use ferretone on your hands. When he bites your hand with the "no bite", he will get a very bad taste. Then offer him the hand with the ferretone. He should lick it. You might have to start out with both hands having the "no bite" spray and then move to using one hand "no bite" and one hand ferretone.

This trick works, however it may still take some time.

cool, i love ferrets..

ok this is what u do has worked here in australia for many years.

u get a bar of soap and put it in his mouth so he tastes it( they hate it obviously), then u rub the soap on your hands, and after he smells it on your hands he will get use or learn not to bite your fingers etc.. due to the taste.

good luck /

do you do any thing to get him angry at you??? maybe try being really nice.... also he might be growing teeth or something... um maybe hes too spoiled and has too muck stuff. wen i had a hamster i gave it a whole bunch of nice hamster things and then it got spoiled and started biting me.. i took away all its stuff and put in its old cage and that taught him a lesson. wen he started to act nice i gave it back all its stuff and its new cage again.. try that.. also if you give him special food, try giving him regular..... oh and you can also get a spray bottle and spray him wen he bites you.. animals dont like to get wet so dont spray him wit cold water or he could get sick...

Good Luck!!!

Well I would get a really small spray bottle and when ever it bites spray it with it. Trust me it doesn't hurt the ferrit,If it hurt it I wouldn;t be telling you this. And I no the ferrit can get used to you saying somthing so everytime you spray it say somthing like "stop no biting (then its name)"
Good luck
