umm lets see; maybe because capt. jack shot him and he was bleeding and then passed out. now, last time i heard of someone getting shot, then bleeding, and then passing out, they died. and plus, he wasn't in the second movie at all until the end (which someone with MaGicaL pOweRs could bring im back to life *cough* tia *cough*) and if he was alive that whole time he would have been out trying to get jack sparrow back!

umm, because jack shot him and he began to bleed, making it pretty obvious that he was dead, but apparently not quite dead otherwise he would be in the 2nd nor 3rd movie

cause he got shot after after the gold got put back in the chest
