What’s the formula or answer for below?

If I sold 650 tickets total amount sold $4375. at $7.50 a ticket for front row and $3.50 for balcony,. How many tickets were sold for balcony and front row?

My answer was:

7.5x + 3.5y = 4375

x + y = 650

-3.5x - 3.5y = -2275

4x = 2100

x = 525

525 + y = 650

y = 125

Orchestra Seats = 525
Balcony Seats = 125

All tickets at balcony will make 650 x 3.50 = 2275
Extra necessary = 4375 - 2275 = 2100
Extra earned for row = 7.50-3.50 = 4
Number tickets required to earn the extra amount
= 2100/4 = 525
and balcony = 650 - 525 = 125

you need another equation to solve this one!
which is
a + b = 650
a = 650 - b

7.5 ( 650 - b ) + 3.5b = 4375
4875 - 7.5b + 3.5b = 4375

500 = 4b
b = 125 ==> a=650-125=525

a = 525 tickets for teh front row
b = 125 tickets for the balcony

a is number of front row tickets, b is number of balcony tickets.

you cant work out from that how many of each balcony and front row there are because there are two variables and you can only work the answer when theres just one.
