how good is the ps3?
let's look for practical uses for the ps3 - ok, yes, it has great potential, but it's so much more expensive to make, which is discouraging to game developers because they know their product will only sell to a small audience, and they will have to pay more to make it on a ps3 disc than an xbox disc
blue ray? tha'ts about to flop like beta did against VHS
if i saw a movie, let's say, for example... let's say i had a choice to pick up the chapelle show set - and on DVD it's 34.99 - on blue ray disc it's like 54.99. let's get realistic here, who will buy the blue ray?
idiots, that's who
then, another thing about the ps3. what happened a year after playstation came out? (if even that long) - various mechanical problems. new models with reparations were released. what happened after ps2 came out? disc read errors from broken bits of plastic (why do they use plastic there!?!) over heating problems from small ventilation areas..
how long will this wave of ps3s live? i give it less than a year.

It is an excellent console compared to nothing else, but put aside a 360 and it isn't on par.
Many "chipset" designers will say the PS3 is better, just because of the power contained in the hardware. The hardware was made for greater performance than "anything anyone has ever seen", but it turns out developers can't really make any use of it. It was made for power with the sacrifice of easy game development.
Evenly distributing code amongst the processor(s) in the PS3 is horrendously challenging.
In the end, they have created a fortress with no doors. That means that its full potential unfortunately most likely cannot be unlocked. Look at the sources if you're really interested.
I have discussed this with numerous professionals who study (use) or even make the hardware.

Playstation is usually better than X-Box. However, the 360 is going to blow the PS3 away. Better pricing mostly. Sony turned their backs on a large majority of their consumers with the ludicrous pricing of the PS3.

all 360 owners say the ps3 is crap, only because they already have a next-gen system and cant change their minds.
The truth is, being a chipset engineer, the playstation 3 is much better than anything we've seen before
Much greater graphgics, and everyiht

i heard it is only equivlent to the xbox 360....best way is go to an electronics store.....and play it there, but if you dont have a high defenition tv, then there really is no use for it since that is one of the better capabilities

It's shite. You fork out to much for to little. Either of the other two consoles would be much better.
It does have the highest specs, however. Meaning it's the most powerful. But games are harder to develop for it and it offers no innovation whatsoever.
