There was recently a new documentary aired on Discovery all about the Apollo 11 mission, titled Apollo 11: The Untold Story. They interviewed Buzz Aldrin during the the show. He talked about how on the 3rd day in space they spotted a large object moving along with the space craft. They looked at it through the telescope but could not make out much detail. They radioed Houston, but did not want to hint at a 'UFO' over an open frequency so they just asked where the s4b was located (booster that shoots them toward the moon). Houston answered that it was about 6000 nautical miles away, so they figured it was not the s4b. The object shadowed them for a full day, they they went to sleep. When they woke up it was gone.
