This what is known as a koan: a riddle used by Zen Buddhists to teach meditation to their students. It is like providing a focal point to stare at or a droning sound to listen to, except it is a mental activity. When your mind is focused on a nonsensical riddle, it keeps you both awake and in a contemplative mood.
Think of playing the scales on a piano, which teaches your fingers to instinctively find the proper notes: a koan teaches your mind to concentrate without sleepiness, boredom or distraction.

a ton of my friends can make one hand clap, its really freaky, cuz its lounder then when they clap with both hands!
