I don't really understand your question?

Good or bad is a perception. To you a person may seem good but to others they may seem bad. In both cases it is a result of their actions. For instance, the group Earth First, they consider what they are doing as the right thing and many people agree with them. Another large group sees them as criminals or terrorists. Its all in your perspective. You can apply the same thought to almost everything. Although the person and their adherents may believe they are good or innocent, they may be in your eyes horrible criminals.

Because actions speak louder than words. Really good people do not advertise the good they are doing. They are not competing to show-off! I really have nothing against those who give enormous amounts of money to charities and gifts to underprivileged people but I believe ordinary people poor as they can be are as good as those in their own way. So to wrap up my answer; there are good people who need to show it and good people who do not need it to be known how good they are. I hope this replies to your question.

Have a very happy holiday season.
No matter what your individual beliefs are.
Love and Peace to everyone.

"What" doesn't make sense. "Why" does. "Seem" is a bit over the top. "Good" only God is good.
