LIne the upper eyelid only, starting from the middle of your pupil & going a little past the outer lash line. USE GRAY, that is the best color for any eye. Use an eyelash curler for the top lashes only, BEFORE applying mascara. This opens up the eyes & you don't have to use so much mascara. Color should always be brownish black or soft black. Maybelline Lash Discovery is the best mascara, it has a small wand so it gets all your lashes & doesn't clump. After curling the lashes, start applying mascara to the outermost lashes (ends only). Then apply second coat to all lashes. Don't use eyeshadow. Trust me, you will have the eyes of Bambi!

Keep the eyeliner thin, really close to the lash line and use mascara with a light touch. Try grey for the liner (or green, brown, etc. depending on your coloring) instead of black. Mascara comes in brownish-black also, for a less severe look.

just apply a lighter colour than black...if you would like to do a darker colour try a slate or charcoal grey...I have a colour called Black Plum by Bonne Bell which is really nice, especially if you have green eyes...just apply on the top lid and use a powder brush to apply a lighter shadow in a complimentary colour, liner style on the bottom lid, you can apply this wet or dry, it is your choice...

you may want to put a bit of sparkly white or champagne coloured shadow at the inner corner of your eye for a bright eyed look...this looks good with a light pastel pink as well, depending on what you are wearing...you could also try a liquid liner on the lid only applied with a light hand in a colour other than black...

I have found that if you apply the liner not around the entire eye but just from the middle to the outside edge in a nice graduated sweep from very thin just over where the pupil is to a might thicker towards the edge of your eye, it makes for a nice wide eyed look...for a brighter look, you can also line the inner lid with white, be very careful so as not to poke your own eye out!

if you are blond, try a brown mascara...you may even try a clear mascara which is also great for taming unruly brows, if need be...

if you are a redhead, try 2000 Calorie by Max Factor in Auburn 104...even if your hair is darker apply a brown black for an everyday look...

for evening, apply coloured like plum, navy or peacock blue to the tips of the lashes only after applying a black...applying colours like these to the whole fringe of lashes is just too dated looking...

Eyeliner-use a brown eyleliner, it doesnt show up as much as black

Mascara-you could also use brown, but just put on a light coat.

That should solve the goth problem

To reduce the look of "goth", just put eyeliner on the inner lash line (part that your eye touches right behind your lashes) or the outer lash line or like other people will tell you dont wear none or just a lighter shade.

If you dont wear alot you wont look goth. But if your still worried you could try brown eyeliner or soft black! Also try not putting liner on the bottom just the top!

You put on the eyeliner as thin as you can, then you put on the mascara as thin as you possibly can so you don't get chunks of mascara on your eyelashes.

you won't look Gothic if you don't put too much on. if you still think you look Gothic then put on a lighter shade of eyeliner and a mascara that isn't so dark.
