Hey!

Does anyone know if the castle used in HP movies is a real castle, or is it just a fabrication? If it is a real castle, where is it, and what is it called?

Thank you!!~ =)

Most of the first two films were made at Gloucester Cathedral.

Its a composit of many things, the primary exterior being Gloucester Cathedral, located in Gloucester England, it had touch ups added to it also afterwards. The rest of the shots are done in different locations including castles, schools, and librarys located around england. There are lists located on IMDB for the movies. (links at bottom) Many locations are used from movie to movie, some are not listed for all of them, but one could assume that its still the same location being used. (like the Cathedral)

Hogwarts is a combination of computer wizardry (pun intended) and various real locations. As well as those already mentioned, I remember the quadrangle of Durham Cathedral being used in the first film.

It is completely computer animated. All of it is computerized except the smaller scenes that they can build sets of e.g. dorm rooms.
