Generally, the most common ones would be cold air intake (almost no gain), cat-back exhaust (again almost nothing), and a new camshaft (pretty decent gain)...

Depends on what it needs, if you do not know how to check for what it needs take it to a garage and have them do it. a garages basic tune-up consists of spark plugs. you may need wires, cap, rotor, pcv, throtle body cleaning, intake service, fuel filter, theres a lot that should be checkedn and if you don't know what to do have someone who does do it. even with computers in the cars, there are still quite a bit that the computer cannot deal with, Like wear of parts, they can acompany the changes for worn parts, but eventually, if the part is no good, then the car won't run good.

Depends on the car and how far you wish to go. Most places will change the spark plugs , air filter , fuel filter ( as long as its not in the fuel tank). Then it up to you and the shop .There is the pcv valve ,dist. cap , rotor , and depending on age the plug wires.5 years or 90,000 K's 50,00o Miles you should replace it all but for just a maintenance tune up plugs air and fuel filter are the min you should do. If it have a cap and rotor you should inspect them. Pcv valve every 20,000 to 30000

My babies get..... Sparkplugs - platinum - Champion, Sparkplug wires, oil and oil filter, air filter, Dist cap and rotor for my Durango.

None of my 4 cars have ever seen black oil and never will. I change it when it get a light brown color. Air filter every 10-15K miles as well. Plugs I change every 15-20K miles.

Dont go by those lies of your car can go 100K miles with the same oil and sparkplugs..... Car manufacturers lie too much!!

Unless it's really old, you don't need to anymore. Back me up, other folks. The cars made today have computers in them, and the computers help take care of the things a tune up used to. Of course, you should still get your oil changed and other maintenance.
