The Garcia trade made no sense whatsoever and this one makes even less.First you trade away a proven winner and get prospects in return-prospects with high e.r.a.'s.Then you trade away a pitcher who 6 months ago you claimed was untouchable in trade talks. So you trade him for what Baseball America calls the Rangers top prospect and 2 other nothings. The Rangers top prospect??What the heck is that?Unless there is some major move about to happen,Kenny Williams has made the two dumbest moves of the offseason. He hasn't made any moves this year to improve the team, like adding a center fielder who can hit or consistent starting pitching. The pitching staff they have now will get them all the way to third place again.
I just love Georgie with the whiny sox comments.Last year the Tigers couldn't close their season out by beating a team that was 2 games over .500.So they make the smart move of trading for one of the all-time cancers in baseball,Gary Sheffield. Will their pitching staff revert to the form it had 2 years ago?Having 20 game losers on the staff isn't the way to win championships.

I'm with The Mullet and Berta44 on this one. Yeah, the McCarthy deal was a shocker, huh? Kenny GM has baffled me for years and most of the time I end up going, "oh, okay I guess that was a smart move after all." Let's just hope he doesn't go overboard with his farm team beefing and leave us without a contending team for "07. Guess I'll just have another (Carlos Lee) reason to go on a trip to Arlington. Go Sox!

It seems Kenny Williams is trying to load the minors with pitchers to cover himself once the major leaguers file for free agency. By the way Detroit is overrated and Gary Sheffield is a clubhouse cancer and admitted steroid user when he and Bonds hung out. He admitted to make errors so he could be traded from San Diego years ago. Also look for the Detroit pitchers to have arm problems this year. Any time a young team goes far in the playoffs the next year the arms have a tendency to have injuries.

a million) Garcia - He became a loose agent on the right of the year. As a season cost tag holder I watched Freddy stink it up more desirable than some circumstances very last year. i imagine eliminating him became a superb deal. It became not about getting Floyd, it became about getting Gio Gonzalez. He became the participant that Philly needed in go back for Thome ( and definitely Rowand). So for Garcia, we received decrease back they participant we despatched for Thome. 2) McCarthy - i do not comprehend why one of those vast quantity of were in love with this guy, except that we had "McCarthy is the subsequent large desire" shoved down our throats. information are information - very last year he proved that he can not pitch out of the bullpen. He proved that his fastball has the tendency to be flat. listed below are that numbers that would want to allow you to recognize why this commerce became made - very last year McCarthy in 80 4 innings gave up 17 domicile runs, seventy seven hits, and 33 walks. He blamed it on "not being comfortable out of the bullpen". So this guy can basically commence? undesirable signal And Danks - the forth ideal prospect in baseball. except you imagine that McCarthy is the 4th ideal prospect in baseball, than it really is a good commerce. it really is almost a particular that Buehrle is lengthy gone after this year. I for one opt for someone there to interchange him as a a million or 2 starter. it truly is what Danks is, at the same time as McCarthy is only a three or 4.

I questioned it also, but they are trying to rebuild their farm system which has been destroyed the past couple of year, they are leaving the 5 spot open for a competition I guess between Danks and Gonzalez and Floyd. Kenny Williams is trying to keep the team competitivie for years to come with moves like this. We'll find out soon enough if this was a good move or a bad one.

I'm as confused as you. It seems the Sox are in rebuilding mode for some reason and making trades just to grab some headlines. Rangers win this trade, no doubt about it.

I have no idea why they made that move. All we can do is wait and see if they do something logical in the future.
