High School Musical is an American made-for-television musical film, produced and distributed by Disney Channel, and was released on January 20, 2006.
It is the story of two high school students, Troy Bolton, who is captain of his school's basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, a shy transfer student who excels in math and science. Together, they try out for the lead parts in their high school musical. Despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella persist and inspire others along the way.
The Emmy Award-winning television film was one of the most successful DCOMs ever produced, with one sequel already confirmed, as well as a number-one soundtrack that is certified triple-platinum, making it one of the most commercially-successful records of the year.
The movie has been seen by an estimated 60 million people around the world. The soundtrack was the most successful album of 2006. The tour sold out within days and is touring forty cities around North America. Basically, it is a phenomenon.
I am watching the movie for the tenth time now. It is starting to get annoying, actually, but the concert tour was great.

High School Musical is a Disney movie. It came out in May/June and people are obsessed about it. It is about a new girl who comes to a new high school and meets a boy. The boy is the team captain of the basketball team and she is a smart girl that is going to go on the dicathalon. They both love singing, so they pair up to audition to get the lead parts in the musical. Sharpay and her brother always get the lead so they don't like when the jock and smarty pants audition.

well its a movie that came out on disney channel. its a young adult version of a musical. so many people loved it. it was just a movie/ musical about teens in a high school.
