Just saw one of those Smart cars on the road last week here in Dallas.....whats up with that ? wasnt a promo as far as I could tell....is it still possible to get cars here in the U.S. via the gray market ....thought was pretty much no longer viable ,unless loopholes have changed....Just wondering ...Merry whatever your celebrating :) thanks Nick

As a matter of fact that car is going into production this next year under Daimler Chrysler to be sold here in the USA.It has been in Europe for years and will now be part of the American fleet as well.its supposed to be great on fuel and fairly cheap to buy. I think it looks like a little turd! Might as well have them put the pallbearer handles on it from factory so they can just drop you in the ground in it.Whats the chance of getting you out of it if you were hit by a truck??

We don need no smart cars but could use a bunch of intelligent mechanics.

i guess you could try to import them from europe (designed in switzerland, produced my daimler-chrysler germany. but in fact, i've heard they should be publicly available in 2008
