All of my Black friends have no idea where their father is...it seems pretty normal for them, and they don't seem to care. What's up with this? My White, Asian, and Hispnic friends all have great fathers....it seems like my Black friends are the only ones without male role models. Is this trend disappearing?

I am white and I have only met my father a handful of times in my life. The only thing my mother knows of her father is his name, not what he looks like or absolutely anything about him. I guess it depends on where you are from. A lot of my black friends have great families whose parents stayed together longer than anyone else's I know.

Well, when guys go and have sex just for the sake of sex they are not thinking and therefore taking a bad action. It results in babies and then all of a sudden the man realizes he made a mistake because he does not want to support the baby for the next 18 years. So he runs away. Now the woman has to support the baby. In many cases the woman has had many sexual partners so does not even know who the real father is anyway.
In either of these situations all of the rest of us (that means you and me) have to pay higher taxes so we can support the baby and the so called mother by providing them the shelter. So instead of the father paying for the babies we all pay for the house rent, gas, electricity, food and some money to the woman and her babies till they become 18 years of age.
For the man's (and woman's) one mistake we all pay up for the rest of the 18 years. If she has another baby then we start again..... and so on and so on.
Another problem is that the baby grows up without a father figure so has no discipline and no love from father. He or she then takes a poor character and can then end up in jail and in case of the girl repeats the same procedure that her mother did.

If you leave the suburbs for a day you might get to meet more people of different races who don't know who their father is. I also hope you realize that knowing who your father is isn't always a great thing. I know my dad well enough but I wish I didn't know the loser. Maybe your friends are lucky not to know their fathers....And if they are like me and have the greatest mother and immediate family ever, you don't exactly need the guy.

I am black, I know who my father is, he and mother are married, and he was there in my life every day of my life. I have numerous black friends and even more relatives we all come from a two parent homes except for one person, so before you make such a generalized statement, know what you are talking about. By the way I am married to a black man and we have been married for 17 years, and yes, every day of my daughter 14 years of life she has seen her Dad. (Another Black Family)

I could be asking the same thing about my white friends but I'm not. And I know who my dad is so if you're just trying to start something just stop.
