I suppose pheremones attract people too. Like-the way someone smells. I don't know how to explain pheremones too well. It's more primal I think though whereas I like to enjoy someone after the lust has worn off-where the smarts and humor and attitude start to move into play.

I read something once that the author gave a brief explaination about her theory on why we have crushes and like other people. If I can remember it and summarize it for you:
We are attracted to people that subconsciously we want to be. The person personify the image of ourselves that we have in our mind. It's who we want to be secretly, it's who we strive to be. That's why we are attracted to other people. It's our own way to striving to resolve our own internal conflict.
I think it was in a Margaret Cho book...of course she puts it more eloquently than I can....

I always used to think that it was firstly physical appearance, but now I am totally attracted to a sexy personality. A witty, strong, ambitious, compassionate person turns me on far more than a fit body...
If I am attracted to someones physical appearance, it is just lust - but that a strong attraction too right!? ;)

He takes chances and lives on the edge, i don't.

It is this intangible thing called chemistry. It is nothing that you can put a finger on, but you know that is there if it is present at all.
