Sure and in music either. The funny thing is that noone is at all embarassed about it. Then the very same people whine about napster and copywrite laws, its pathetic, their pathetic!

Not at all. There may be very little individuality in music that's shown on Mtv, but go crazy with something you've never heard of before. Try Tom Waits. He's recently become "fashionable" with the younger crowd. I guarantee there's no one else like him. Muse is a fairly new band that is very original. Cold War Kids and TV on the Radio have very unique sounds.
Get away from the pop that radio stations and Mtv throws at us, and I promise there's some amazing music out there.

There's aways going to be trends & people will jump on the bandwagon. There's still good music out there, it is just not what's making the charts. Check out more bands on indie labels. You'll be surprised at what you'll find. Also explore older music as there are hidden gems there as well.

To hear some real music you have to go back to the classics. If you have never tried listening to it seek someone who can explain the beauty, the power, the overwhelming sound of instruments in harmony. Listen to the 3rd, 5th, 6th or 7th Symphonie of Beethoven and you get emotional. It overpowers you, you have to cry if you want to or notYou are hearing music few people can understand and appreciate but if you listen with your heart, your emotions you find beauty, peace and power in this music. Merry Christmas

there is a lot of good talent out there, but you won't find these bands on the radio or satellite.

unless you are under 20, then just listen to whatever your friends are so you can be different like them.

was there ever individuality in music? sammy kahn, a well known songwriter in the 1950s once gave the following advice about writing a hit song: "pick a song that was just number one and write another song that sounds just like it."
