How can the gossip rags report such stuff as "affair with Condi" and "Laura moves out" if these things are not true. Couldn't they be sued???? Just wondering how much truth to all this stuff. How can we find out?

Many of the stories in tabloids don't have basis in facts. Sometimes they do - but how smart do you have to be to write an article that the Spears/Federline marriage is in trouble?

They have sometimes been sued, and people have won - Carol Burnett got a significant judgement from one of the tabloids that printed an article saying she was an alcoholic - she'd grown up a child of alcoholics, and it was a real hot button with her, so she sued.

Most of the time, the celebrity doesn't want to give publicity to the magazine - a lawsuit would just ensure that more and more people heard about the story and maybe, seeing the charges in the more legitimate press, would be more likely to believe them.

Surely the First Lady Laura Bush , was in the news just recently with the band aid issue, and that there was a growth removed from her leg, that was malignant. I really do not believe these gossips have any basis to be making up such untrue stories. The President has more important issues to deal with, then to pay attention to this kind of invalid gossip, it needs to be ignored.

Yes, but he is paying $$$$$$$$ to keep it from media. In June 06, Laura stayed at the Mayflower Hotel b/c she found out about Rice. Bush is racist. The only reason he let Rice work for him is b/c she is messing around with him. This needs to be made public like Clinton. It won't b/c bushy boy has $. Ask his friend, osama.

I think the reason the Bush marriage has lasted so long is because it has been built upon the rock....The ROCK of faithfulness by believing in our Lord Jesus and following His example. More marriages should be on that Rock.

No, his marriage is just fine. These rags make things up. To sue takes years of money and time. It really isn't worth it.

Frankly, how many people in the US lie? In the media? No, it's not on the rocks otherwise it'd be on ALL the media we hear everyday. It's all bogus, just keep passing it by, don't strain your eyes over it.
