My mouse won't right click on my desktop but works in other places?

For example, I can copy and paste within firefox by right clicking, but I cannot right click on the desktop or in any windows folders. I tried checking the mouse settings and they looked fine. Advice?

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Have you tried changing his brand of cheese?
