The Christmas after our son died, my hubby just wanted to skip the whole thing. Wouldn't put up the tree, nothing. I got him a small gift, left it on the dining room table where he'd see it. Out of guilt, I think, he bought me a ring.
Then, on Christmas day, we had a terrific snowstorm and he couldn't get home from his out of town job. I didn't want to be alone, so I fought the storm to go to work. Relieved another employee so she could go home and be with her kids.
Worked out well. It was cheerier being with my coworkers. And the company gave us all a lovely Christmas dinner. .. We had no festive food at home. I'd have dined on tuna fish sandwiches if I'd stayed home.

No, because my family is always their to take care of use, and we live by each other, were just a city away. and i would never ever want to skip Christmas with my family. It would be like saying you hate your brother... that is what i think. and even if my mom would say we do not have enough money for Christmas we would still get together with the family.

I am not a Christian, but I celebrate Christmas just to decorate the tree and get gifts for the kids. Once they are old enough to know that there is no Santa, the fun would be gone.
I never celebrated Christmas before the kids were there .. and now, I will celebrate the festival just as I celebrate life.

no longer on holiday, yet we lived in Las Vegas for a pair years. appeared so unusual to work out Christmas customers no longer donning heavy coats and snow boots. i offered my son a snow globe so he would have some snow for Christmas
