Pinpoint strikes on the nuclear sites - probably not very long, especially if sanctions don't work

General airstrikes - possible, if it's going to happen then sometime next year

All out Iraq style war - not in the forseeable future. Iran has an army of half a million, and they have a very large paramilitary organisation called the Basij, with anything between 1 and 11 million members, all trained to use weapons. Their army is better equiped and better trained than the Iraqi army - their country is nearly 3 times the size with twice the population. Invading Iran even without having troops already in Iraq and Afghanistan wouldn't be a picnick. With the anarchy going on next door in Iraq can the US and its allies really afford a war that spans 8 hundred thousand square miles?

That depends. If we do like we did with Saddam, it should be about 13 years? That should give Iran plenty of time to sh*t on us like Saddam did.

Then again, a lot may lay in Iran's lap. How is Ahmadinejad going to take sanctions? If he attacks Israel now, I'd say war is very likely, and very soon. This also may play into Ahmadinejad's goal anyway, since he may now see an excuse to go ahead and do what he feels he needs to do to bring back the 12th Inman.

We have been at war with Iran since 1979. Remember we flagged Kuwaiti Tankers in the late 80's are we blasting the crap out of Iranian gun boats. We also shot down an Iranian airliner believing it was a fighter ready to attack us. We have CIA personel operating in Iran right now trying to undermine the regime there. I'm sure the British and French are operating there also.

Nothing has been brought to congress for approval, and the political shift in Iran also changes the face of this issue. I'm rather encouraged with the recent elections in Iran.

If we fought it correctly, that is, drop one nuke then give them seven days to surrender, then drop another, it would be over in two weeks.

To answer your question, I don't think fifty percent of the country has the guts for it.
We should start right after the holidays.
