Would you rather have the ability to fly, but every time you flew you would lose a year of your life, or would you rather be able to breathe underwater? (with no consequences)

I would choose to fly for a long, long time - see the whole world from above and lose one year.

That is an interesting choice. While both would be fun, you would have to stay aloft for extended periods in order to make the payoff worthwhile. On the other hand, breathing under water would not only be fun but would open up a world of jobs that are among the highest paying in the world. That is assuming that the government did not kidnap you and use you as a lab rat.
