Firstly don't feel guilty, you did all you could to get the gifts there for Christmas. This way instead of Christmas being over in one day, they will have your gifts to look forward to later in the week. I know how frustrating it is to be let down by delivery people - the same thing has happened to me - but hey when there's absolutely nothing you can do about something, you have no choice but to accept it. Your family will understand, don't be too hard on yourself.

That really sucks! Ring your family on Christmas day and speak to your kids, tell them santa got mixed up and brought their presents to you so you are going to put them in the post for them. It buys you a little time and lets them know that they weren't forgotten.

What can you do? and anyway its not your fault at all and your wife should understand that. Call her and let her know what has happened and make sure to call the kids xmas day, knowing you love them is the best present anyway

There is nothing you can do unfortunately, just persue your refund with royal mail, and inform your family that the gifts will be late.

well,it's really sad when you can't spend your christmas with your family..and reaching out to them will be your best option-the gifts can wait(though you have to sue royal mail for that inefficiency)..why not call them..there are lots of ways to reach our love ones nowadays..let them feel you're near and maybe explain to them about the delay of their gifts)..Merry Christmas!

Im sure your family will understand its not your fault. I think its great to get presents when everyone else has had theirs.

Tell them you'll make it up to them in 2007.
