Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. So the meaning of Christmas, to me, is the birth of Christ. I was asked to speak on the meaning of the meaning of Christmas. Rather, what the Birth of Christ means to me. It is the time when our brother and savior was born, and it marks the beginning of a change in history. And I don’t think I was really supposed to use scriptures, ‘cos it was supposed to be how I felt about it, but I couldn’t put it better than it already is in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” So the birth of Christ also is God’s love for us, and the hope, and insentive to achieve everlasting life.

Christ’s birth changed history in more than B.C. v. A.D. Prior to Christ’s birth the world was in the dark ages & without the gospel. There was no hope for the future, or life after death, because Jesus hadn’t been on Earth to atone for our sins yet. Christ’s birth brought light into the world. No, literally, light for three days. And figuratively ‘cos dark is bad and light is good. His birth marked the beginning of .

It means knowing with sure hope that redemption, justice, and love have entered the world and the process of restoring the brokeness caused by sin, has both been achieved and begun. Also it’s just a relief that I don’t have to worry about gifts, since the greatest one has already been given.

It means the incarnation of God to save His people from their sins. It is part of the greatest love story ever, that God would take the flesh, dwell among us, suffer and die and rise from the dead three days later saving His people from sin and death.

Nothing. Jesus was a simply a human being, just like all of the other 60 billion or so other human beings that have ever lived and died. Long after he died some people made up a bunch of fairy tales about him and now you have 1 billion people wasting their time. (That is just my opinion, of course there is no way I can prove it.)
