Had a virus that ate a krnl, reinstalled fine...but now I have barely enough space on my harddrive to defrag, because all of my stuff is still here just deleted...defrag, adaware, virusscan all find files I cannot locate to delete completely. I need to wipe my harddrive clean like it just came from dell, so I can reinstall again, ty.

Well, boot from the CD in recovery mode. Use DISKPART to delete your partitions and FORMAT to reformat the drive. You should be able to re-install from there.

First though, when you re-installed, did it save the old install? If it did - find that sucker and delete it - that might give you enough space.

Also, do a CHKDSK /F on your hard drive. If there's junk there, that might clear it up.

I suggest first you delete all internet files including off line content.Then delete all cookies.Thirdly you delete all temp files. You can run disc clean up it will select all files to be deleted. Then go through the files and try to transfer important files to a CD. Also delete all those files that you have copied in CD. Donot forget to empty recycle bin.Now you can review the files and delete those files that can be safely deleted. Then rud defrag application. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some drive problems can be easily fixed by yourself using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required

Then you are going to have to have the System Disk and format your hard drive.This will wipe everything off of it.
