Not necessarily. I have taught at a community college where they give you a high-school equivalency diploma after a certain number of credits are satisfactorily achieved. However, not all states do this and you would need to contact your local community college. Also, some programs such as this require you to be out of school for a certain period of time. Beyond community colleges, such programs are rare. They do exist, but are extremely difficult to enter.

Some HS. will allow you to take courses at a community college in this way you can double count the class. This does avoid some of the challenges with AP classes.

you don't have to complete high school. you can get a GED instead but being a high school student makes getting into college easier because the counselors and staff walk you through the process. when you attend high school, the people there want to see their students go on to college so you have many more resources for help.

Not necessarily, it depends on your age. Some colleges offer courses to "mature students" - however depending on your actual education and the courses you choose it could very difficult. Also some courses may be closed to you because you wouldn't have the knowledge to comprehend the studies. - Best you complete high school, it makes the whole thing easier and more fun.

No, you can attend a junior college without completing high school and transfer to a four year school in a couple of years.

you may need credits in certain subjects for the coarse you are taking . also there are some cases where the college or coarse requires it but that is not a standard . adults returning to school are most often the ones that manage to skip the grad part of high school
