well as a mets fan i sure hope so but i don't think the mets want to go too high in terms of money wise so unless they change their minds and decide to give a competitive offer or barry zito decides that he's willing to take less money to come to a team like the mets who have a chance of winning a championship every season then we might not get him

It is possible. They are pursuing him pretty hard but in the end if Texas throws enough money (and it seems likely they will) he will sign with the Rangers. They have a big advantage (Ron Washington) and Zito is known to really think a lot of him and there is speculation that good freind Mark Mulder is leaning toward the Rangers as well. They seem intent on revamping the staff and just today traded for Brandon McCarthy.

Its a possibility. I don't think the Yankees are going to be putting on as much pressure now that they have Andy Petitte. The only other team I can see him going to is the rangers who seem to always need pitching and wan to get an edge on their division rival the athletics.

No. The Mariners are putting big money up for Zito, but his heart is leading him to the Rangers. Also, the White Sox have a hole in their rotation now, a chance for Zito? The Mets aren't on his list, though.

The Yankees will get him. Once he is signed the Yankees will go on to post a regular season record of 162-0. Any questions?

Looks that way... Even the Rangers have said that they think of themselves as longshots now.
