Dogs are more affectionate as a rule while cats are more aloof.
Cats tend to be cleaner and less work than dogs.
Nonetheless, I am a dog person. I love dogs. I don't think I could ever have a cat because I couldn't stand to be around anything that is bitchier than I am.
