Most states have programs where you can begin making payments now toward your child's college education, effectively locking in current prices. What is better than the gift of knowledge and a jump start on the future? Anyone can contribute, friends, grandparents, etc.

No Pets - she is 5 months old and you have enough work to do- make a video and take loads of pictures it will be a favorite for everyone down the road- don't forget a special ornament that reminds you of her birth and first months (an angel maybe) to commemorate this occasion- she can't open gifts but when she is older will enjoy the movie and photos when tied to the ornament - add to the video every year until she is 5 for a great chronological diary. If you must have a "gift" than give her a box she will LOVE it or a toy that makes the crackle sound of wrinkled paper kids love that noise. Most of all HAVE FUN!

This is my 9 month old's first Christmas, and I knew that the majority of toys that are made for his age, he wouldn't play with, SO I got him a lot of blocks, some expensive outfits that I normally wouldn't buy during the year, and toys that he can play with in a few months. I just wanted to have presents for him under the tree, mainly for the fact that we are taking lots of pics and videotaping Christmas morning, and I just want him to have those memories. But honestly, I think he will be more interested in the wrapping paper more than the toys:)

And like sumone else said, go and let her take a picture with Santa and put it in a baby scrap book. Or make it into a Christmas Card and send it to all of your relatives!!! At 5 months, she's not going to notice, but I understand it from the Mommy perspective. Why not get her a "memory box" or scrap book to keep her cutest photos, favorite outfits, ticket stubs, and whatnot in? You'll be able to save the items and pix you like without having to catalog and label them if you don't want to, and she'll have something nice to look back on later.
Good luck, and Merry Christmas!

Well you could get her a picture of her in a picture frame or get a little soft book that she will be able to play with or some chew toys for when she starts teething.
P.s get her an ornament that says"name's first Christmas" then a picture of her on her first Christmas.
The ultimate present would be love.

Since she is only 5 months old, you could get her a glow worm or something cuddly and you could also get a savings bond or money market certificatfund so that she will have money for college or what ever she determines to spend the money on when she is older. Make it a yearly tradition, she will thank you for it when she is older and can appreciate it.
Check with your insurance agent or financial advisor for the best advice on where/what to invest.

OK.....so she's 5 months and she has EVERYTHING.
BUT in 3 months she will be 8 months and will have outgrown everything she is now wearing and playing with.
So....think ahead and get her some stuff for her future.
Including a college fund!

She's 5 months old ... need I say more?
Seriously, she is not even 1 years old. She doesn't need every toy on the planet. Just get some things you think she would like. I'm sure she will like them.

I would get her a baby's first Christmas ornament. She won't remember her first Christmas, but an ornament she can hang on the tree herself in future years would make it special.
