Your body is out of whack from stopping the pill.

Make sure that you're not pregnant, though, just in case, but menstrual irregularities are not abnormal after stopping the pill.

The first question to consider is have you been having any sexual contact during the time when you were missing pills, or since you have stopped? There is a possibility you could have become pregnant during those times. When you stop the pill, it sometimes takes a few months for your body to figure out that it is on it's own and won't be relying on OCP (oral contraceptive pills) to make it work. In the meantime, a pregnancy test might be in order. If you have a Planned Parenthood in your town, they can run one for you and examine you if you so choose. Good luck...hope everything works out OK!

It's possible. Sometimes the pill does leave a certain amount of residue in the system. Remember, the pill messes with your hormones to prevent unwanted pregnancy, not unwanted STD's. There is another possibility, you could be pregnant. This is also another preventable STD that people don't usually think about before calling their doctor!
