The best - absolute best - was the late Andy Stewart. He recorded a ton of albums. Very traditional tunes to even a few with a rock and roll beat. His "Scottish Soldier" is an all-time classic. And his rock version of "Donald, Where's Your Troosers?" which came out in the mid-'60's is great - there are two versions, the short traditional version and the longer one. I think his family may run a website dedicated to his music.

Moira Anderson (same era as Andy Stewart and Kenneth Mckellar) aahh.. memories of my childhood! Wasn't there somebody called Harold Lauder (maybe my granny mentioned him...from the music halls. Used to sing 'I love a lassie' - think Andy Stewart did a cover version!)
