I would like to be able to have programs that you can only use if you know the password. Is this possible? How would I go about doing this?

the easiest thing to do is to just install the programs under the admin account. windows installer will ask if you want the application accessible to just admin or other users. select just admin.

when you want to run the program you can start it from the command prompt when logged on under any account like this:

C:\Program Files\runas /user:admin "ProgramName.exe"

Set up two different users on your computer. Set up the one user who is the administrator, so that that signon has access to those programs. Set up a second user who does not have administrator ability on the computer, who has access to a limited group of programs.

many options with this one.

you can try getting a file encryption software and then encrypt the directory of the software so that you can access it only after unlocking the folders by using a password
