Random shutdowns are NOT usually software, its the hardware warning you there is an issue that needs a computer technician to look at it. If it's only rebooting in a game, then there is an issue with the game. If rebooting in windows, Could be overheating, close to being damaged.

Depending upon which software you are using.
You could try going into "my computer" and then into "control panel".
Once there, look for the icon, "power options". This is where you adjust your power saving features, such as power down, shutdown of monitor, shutdown of your hard drive, etc. Change the settings to "never"
There are many possibilities that cause your problem, but, just give this a try.

this can be caused by so many things
hard to give a quick answer
i would advise doing all the following
1. spyware scan using something like adaware SE spybot
2. full virus scan using your up to date anti virus software
3. defrag
4. diskcleanup (these to can be found in all programs accessories system tools)
after doing all these, if still restarts then it could be a possible hardware fault.

Check your power supply (a part on the computer). It sounds like you might have a bad one.
