What I love about Christmas is the chance to be able to give to your family and friends and spend time with them. That's what I think Christmas should be about: people taking time for each other the way Christ took time for us.

For me as a christian I think of my Lord and savior and how much he has meant to me all these years. Recently I watched a movie where one of the main characters asks another what the first gift of Christmas was. he thought and thought and the first answer he came up with is Love she said he as close so he thought some more and realized it was the birth of a child. He was right. Now realizing that the season of Christmas warms my heart even more. Jesus is the reason for the season. Its commercialism that's changed all that.

It means a Pagan Holiday that wasn't accepted by the Christian Churches until the 1840's because it was Pagan in origin. Then, when Queen Victoria married the German Prince Albert, a Newsprint of her in front of their german christmas tree caused a craze and within 10 years everyone in England had one. It soon caught fashion in America and the Stores like Woolworth, Penney's, Sears and Macy's ran away with it. I believe Macy's is the one who invented Rudolph and having an "actual" Santa in the stores started in the mid-1800's. So, basically, the Churches got caught up in the retail scam part of it. Only in America. PS Santa is the one part that is actually made in america.

What the holiday means to me now, and always, is the importance of Jesus Christ, for without Him, I'd be subject to man's inhumanity to man.
Christ paid the price for all of us, and by doing so, revealed what true love is all about.
Forget the gift giving and the celebrating, it's all about that Holy Birth and the beauty of it, along with the position of the Holy Family and it's significance.
A story, my friend, I never tire of hearing.
God Bless you for Christmas, and always.

the meaning of celebrating the early pilgrams.when they were on this earth many centuries ago.when they first celebrated their little xmas.the fact that they had to do without what we have now and that we should remember and be thankful for what we have and remember those that didnt have it.and remember also our families that have left us behind, and the ones that were killed in the terrible horror of 9/11.especially that one.that's what it means to me the least.
Blessed be and a happy Holidays 2 ya!

Having to spend a lot of money that I don't have. That's it.
Wait for the thumbs down ..... Got it!
So, have any of YOU managed to get through Christmas without spending a lot of money? I doubt it. It's even worse when you don't have that money to spend! It'd be nice if everyone just got together and worshipped, but that's just not realistic. I hate it, and all holidays that pick my pocket.
