One Nation, under God.. God Bless America.. In God We Trust.. etc.
Time this country realized that if she doesn't remain with God, she too will find herself falling apart, just like all the other nations.
I'm sorry for the past mistakes this country went through, but don't you think it's time we learned from them, and moved forward.
Time the Christians of this country stood up, and spoke up for their beliefs, making their voices heard. There's been enough of taking God out of everything.
It can be done with peace, respect.. it must be done.
Merry CHRISTmas!

we still did not learn from that mistake read why
The Barbary Treaties: Treaty of Peace and Friendship,
Signed at Tripoli November 4, 1796 (during the presidency of George Washington) Ratified by the United States Senate June 10, 1797.
ARTICLE 11.
As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
Here are some gratuitous anti-clerical quotes from the U.S.'s third president, Thomas Jefferson
I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology. Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the earth.
Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Short, in "Six Historic Americans" by John E. Remsburg
More Jefferson:
The clergy converted the simple teachings of Jesus into an engine for enslaving mankind and adulterated by artificial constructions into a contrivance to filch wealth and power to themselves...these clergy, in fact, constitute the real Anti-Christ.

It has the same history as the rest of the world. In fact, there is still killing going on to this date. Yet the country was founded on many Christian principles by people that were primarily Christian;.
If your point is that the US was founded on an evil principle...then you have missed the point of Christianity. As CHristians, we understand that we are essentially good but we tend to do evil things and are not perfect. We strive toward good. The US has this principle also.
One could apply your logic to any country, say Iran, whose latest government is based on it's devotion to the Islam. Yet it was founded by kidnapping and killing Americans in the consulate who bore no evil will to them at the time and actually still do not.
That said, should the security of either country be threatened, would they not defend themselves? of course not.

Each Country, during thier "expansion time" was guilty of atrocities that we would frown on now.
But, it was a necesary "evil" for them, or we wouldnt be as we are today...The United States.
Who knows what went on back there, if we were guilty of attacking the indians, or the indians attacked us? (After all, the Indians were tribal and roamed around attacking other tribes, so they werent as "innocent" as we are led to believe and total victims either).
The Pilgrims came to this Country seeking a better and free'er way to worship, as they were being persecuted in thier Country for being a Christian.
What atrocities and tragedies occured, the LORD will deal with. What "you" have to worry about, is Salvation of your "own" soul...
Accept JESUS CHRIST as your Saviour, and give up your secular life, and follow HIM. Believe in HIM, Repent your sins, Confess your sins, recieve Baptisim, and live a Christian life.
I wish you well..
Jesse

What's your point? You trying to say that we are not a Christian nation? Times were different back then than they are now.
