true. I think in my life I have little spirts of happiness that I wish I could hold on to. you are right, life is very hard, but I also think it's because of our own poor judgement.

Happiness is inside of one's self. If you are constantly looking for other people or other things to make you happy then you will almost always be disappointed. Happiness is a state of mind and it is by choice. I have learned to smile thru a storm of crap because if I didn't I would go crazy. Life is what you make of it and you get out of it what you put in. I have learned to be happy no matter what because you will waste your whole life away if you always say "i will be happy when...." When may never come and you will have spent your entire life waiting to be happy when all you need to do is make the choice today. Positive thinking is powerful!

Happiness or contentment.
People have a misunderstanding about being content. People of today think if they go out and buy this or that it will make them content and/or make all the money in the world will make them content.
Others think if they get attention from many people this will make them content.
Society of today expects one to be all things.
True contentment or happiness comes from within. Know one can tell another how to achieve this. One has to find this out all on there own.
Sometimes one will find this in the least likely place. Some never find this.
Young people of today expect (like they were taught) that all they want can be obtained very easily and quickly. This is not true and young people of today are set up to fail in this aspect...

Whether you are religious or not , I do not know, but the Bible gives a simple explanation, & I will make it as brief, as I can.
A note what the holy spirit is , is not & does, and does not.
Holy Spirit or Active Force , shaped the earth and all that was on it. (Gen. 1:2.) It was used to give Samson his super human strength. It was used to plant the seed of Jesus into Mary's womb. Matth. 1: 15-20)
Holy Spirit is not a person, so it did not rape Mary.
The holy spirit can produce qualities that every human being needs desperately please note when we allow it to influence us this is what happens, as we make the effort:
(Galatians 5:19-24)
22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Moreover, those who belong to Christ Jesus impaled the flesh together with its passions and desires.
Now there is a big difference in the world's party or debased spirit( attitudes) these are easy to obtained and the world is drunk with it:
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, 20 idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, 21 envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning YOU, the same way as I did forewarn YOU, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom.
Jesus recommended a way of recieving holy spirit , please note:
On the subject of prayer:
(Luke 11:8-13) . . .. 9 Accordingly I say to YOU, Keep on asking, and it will be given YOU; keep on seeking, and YOU will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to YOU. 10 For everyone asking receives, and everyone seeking finds, and to everyone knocking it will be opened. 11 Indeed, which father is there among YOU who, if his son asks for a fish, will perhaps hand him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he also asks for an egg, will hand him a scorpion? 13 Therefore, if YOU, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to YOUR children, how much more so will the Father in heaven give holy spirit to those asking him. . .
You are absolutely right there is a failure to produce. The full answer lies in the fulfillment of Jesus model or Lord's Prayer "Thy Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is heaven....
True happiness will come about through the paradising of the earth from heaven in Jesus hands.

Because we live in a patriarchal society which puts happiness in so many unrealistic things making us confused as to where to find happiness are even realize when we should be happy. And it puts restraints on things that could make you happy, and people usually fall prey to the guilt patriarchal religion and society lays on a person so at times they are too afraid to even reach for that happiness.

Everyone has their own idea of happiness.
(If I only had this; If I only looked like that; If I only knew him/her.)
Happiness comes from a personal goal being reached. If these goal have to come from someone else. We're screwed.
My happiness is based on goals I can reach for myself. I love people, and money's nice. But, I don't place my happiness in them.

there is always results, we are just sometimes do not realize what happiness is. happiness starts within yourself...if you are not happy you cannot make anyone else happy nor will you realize what happiness is. happiness does not always have to be monetary or materialistic, happines can be that one little ( an i mean little) thing that makes you smile.
