No matter your theory of creation, it seems to me we all started at the same time. Walked upright, crossed the Bearing Straights etc. How did that evolve into all of us speaking in so many tongues?

Language developed out of a need to communicate. As homonids spread around the globe and became adventurous and separated by time and space from each other, different languages developed among the various hominid groups. Isolation by space and time allowed these languages to become more diverse until the various languages in humans developed into the roots of modern languages

The change of language is inevitable. All languages change and this will always happen. It's currently happening to English and all modern languages. People immigrate, times change and new words are necessary. For example, Latin used to be an important language but the speakers of Latin conquered many areas, such as what we call Italy, France, Spain and Portugal today, among other lands. Those who settled in the new lands separated fromt the rest and thus a variation of Latin emerged: Portuguese, Spanish, etc. Today, the Spanish and Portuguese spoken in Europe is not the same and the Spanish and Portuguese spoken in Latin America and Africa. The French from France and that of Canada is very different as well. Accents emerge, people create words, slang becomes part of the language, etc.

I don't believe the bs that in the beginning there was only one language. No matter how you try to explain it, biblically or scientifically. Humanoids existed in different parts of Africa, so they MUST have made different sounds. Adam and Eve, now that's a story, one a woman one a man, males and females speak completely different languages, even if it is the same 'lingo'.

Well I am christian so I would say Tower of Babel.

According to the narrative in Genesis Chapter 11 of the Bible, the Tower of Babel was a tower built by a united humanity to reach the heavens. Because the hearts of men were said to be inherently evil and disobedient, they were striving to make a name for themselves instead of worshipping the God who created them. Because of this open defiance, God stopped their efforts by confusing languages so that the builders could not understand one another. As a result, they could no longer communicate and the work was halted. The builders were then scattered to different parts of Earth. This story is sometimes used to explain the existence of many different languages and races.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!!
