I think it was unnecessary. The type of people who get worked up about things like that really need a reality check. It's a CD CASE! Who cares?

If I am shopping somewhere and there is an item that is offensive to me, I will report that item to management and if my issue is not handled in an appropriate manner I can then choose to shop elsewhere, remember Target is in business to make money and not make enemies and sometimes it is easier to remove the offensive item than to lose customers. I agree that they should remove items of an offensive nature. There are a lot of families living in America who were hurt by this individual so of course there would be objections, it is a shame that the store buyer did not forsee this before purchasing the item.

Che's image has been hawked almost more than anybody else's in modern history. He'd roll over in his grave if he knew Target or any other corporation was using his image to further capitalism.

Frankly, I steer clear of Target, Wal-Mart, and the other big box stores. There is no difference between them. They all pay shitty wages, contribute their political donations to Republicans, and make the trade deficit worse.

The main point is to just quit buying crap you don't need. The worst one is Wal-Mart, and nobody should ever shop at Wal-Mart unless there is absolutely NO OTHER alternative. They are the worst in terms of their community "standards," their wage scale, their mistreatment of employees. Target is not far behind, however.

I am soooo tired of retailers, businesses, schools, etc having to remove something because a few people complain.
Everything seems to be offensive to someone and not a day goes by that their isn't an "outcry" over something so trivial.

When will the world get past this pettiness?

Yes. I saw a teen wearing it on a shirt in the mall. I asked him who the guys was? He thought it was some old rock star. His mother came over to find out whats up. She didn't know either. I told them who he was and what he did. She took him in a store and bought him a new shirt.
A line has to be drawn somewhere. Others may not know and search to find out. Without guidance they could follow down a path to destruction and not really know why. Similar to many young Muslims and the terrorist groups propaganda.
