I have heard of institutions for higher studies (bachelors) in europe that require no tution fees. The only requirement is probably learning the local language for six months or something. Can anyone name any such universities?

the tax base in Europe is very heavy and my niece is in Germany and gasoline is about $8 a gal. If you want to carry that kind of tax burden we could have all kinds of free stuff here too.

The moral of the story is there ain't no such thing as free.

'Europe' now is quite vast and admissions policies differ as greatly as they do in the U.S. I finished my bachelor degree at the Universite de Dijon (France, not mustard). The fees were nominal (for me) but there was still housing, food, and French people to contend with.

It was a rewarding experience and it looks great on my resume!

that was true about 10years ago. If you are not European you have to pay extra - about 3 times as much as locals.
