slightly above average. not stupid but certainly nothing to brag about---like most of us!

The average IQ is 100, with the standard deviation being 15. That means 68% percent of the population fall between plus and minus 15 from 100. So a 116 IQ puts someone above average and in the top 32% of the US population.
116 is therefore above average and among the brightest minds in the country!

Average. But keep in mind that IQ scores don't mean much, particularly at the higher end. They were developed to discover who might have a problem with regular education so that they could be placed in special education. IQ tests show skills in certain types of problems and are quite limited. They don't cover nearly all of the skills needed for life. Many people with average IQs are quite successful and there are many people with extremely high IQs that are not successful at all. So no one should let an average IQ score bother them. Further, if a person is able to function, there is really no reason for an IQ test.

I have heard the highest possible is 200. Not very many get up that high. I have taken IQ tests on the computer and had a score of around 120. What's a lousy 4 points, huh? It's average and I can live with that. The next step was around around 160. You have no worries, Genius is better than above average, above average maybe better than average, but..... average is bettr than below average or below that. I'm on meds. to help control seziures(I'm on ,meds. to help control seziures for epilepsy). School was a living at times, but I Made it through and I even have my amateur radio license. Don't worry about your IQ. Just do your best and bear with it. With the meds. I'm on (Phenobarbitol, Dilantin & Valium), I made it through high school and u can make it too. Remember, the IQ's are just numbers.

Most IQ tests consider 100 to be average IQ. 116 is most likely an above average IQ, but it does depend on the type of test you took.
