No it is not. The V12 has two lines of cylinders, while the W12 has three, which gives more vibrations.

I prefer the SL65 or S65 from Mercedes... its a V12 bi-turbo.. OMG. amazing. To answer you question, Audi V12 is smoother, they use a special transmission that has seamless gear changes.

"Audi developed a new stepless transmission named Multitronic. This new transmission is stepless because there is no gear change as exhibited on a modern automatic or manual transmission. This transmission was based off of existing CVT but radically changed to transfer power better and reduce power loss even more."

In my opinion, transmission makes a world of difference. Comparatively speaking the BMW and Audi has great suspension so the fact the transmission is so smooth makes allt he difference.
