I'll refrain from mentioning that you probably intended to say, a second "U" in curiosity, so the best answer I can give you is:
Curiosity killed the cat,
Information brought him back,
Lemonade made him fat.
That's a ditty I learned a long time ago; I doubt it will be good enough for `Best Answer', but, on this, the eve of Christmas Eve, I'll treasure the two points for it.
Surely someone with a sense of humour will at least give me a thumbs up.

English has lots of weird spellings, however having a silent u in curiosity would be really odd. People say curiOSity, the sound is summed up in the spelling.

Um, there is a U in tha word. You pressed it when you asked the question. I do see what you mean though I believe you would have meant why isnt there a second U.
