Mine always lasted about 10 days (but my cycle was 7 weeks long) before I went on birth control pills. If it's a heavy flow for the entire week, that would be weird. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. The next time you go to the doctor you can ask about it.

It is normal if it is not every month. If you have periods lasting for over 7 days every month, see your doctor. If it's every now and then, it's normal.
