I bought Moisture absorbent dry wall to finish my basement. One side is green and the other is brown. What sides faces the inside of the room and what side faces the outside of the house..........

green faces inward. when unsure always look at the side edge of the sheet of drywall. the edges on each side are tapered a little on the side that faces inward. this is to allow for the mud to be applied without leaving a bulge after sanding.

You should see the green when it is installed. So, brown faces the outside of the house.

Another way you can tell is by the beveled edge. there should be a bevel on the edges so you can make your seams, which should be facing in. They're not very deep, but they're there.

green is the side you will paint. The "brown" side goes toward the studs or frame work.
