Do you wish it was easier for men to express our feelings and emotions?

2006-12-23 07:03:51 · 30 answers · asked by Anonymous in Family & Relationships Marriage & Divorce

One of the reasons that men don't express our feelings is because we don't want women to think we're gay or acting like a wuss.

Just ask Izayoi and Sorcergeek - based on their answers, if a man ever did open up express his feelings around them, they'd call him "gay" and "a wuss" and a "pussy" and he'd NEVER ever express his feelings to another woman ever again!

We don't like getting our egos bruised, as you well know, and that would be a very ego bruising experience.

You poor men are caught in a catch 22! Damned if you do and damned if you don't! Not all women, but alot of women complain that their man is unsensitive and can't express his feelings. But when they get one that does, they call him a sissy, weak, no back bone, and end up pushing him around and telling him to be a man. There is no perfect man out there. Nor woman. I know some men that are better at being real with their feelings than alot of women. I think men learn to be a little more sensitive when they have a good teacher with patience and understanding.

Well I strongly believe there would be allot less divorce if men would open up and talk! So many relationships go down the drain because of no communication. Men believe that women should know what is going on and what to do to fix the relationship when there is problems, but believe me we are as clueless as ever when it comes to figuring out things (we think we know and pretend well, but we don't)!! We cant fix or correct what we don't know is broken unless we are told! Who ever in the world gave men the knowledge that it is wrong to express their feelings was so far from right it is awful. More men need to open up to their loved ones and allow them to step in and resolve things before they become a problem and then it is an ugly cycle, cause then at that point if you have children then the cycle starts over with your children if it is a boy then they will do the same as the father and have failed relationships and if it is a girl then they will fallow in their mother foot steps and allow the man to treat her this way which then again ends in a failed relationship.......so there you go the sum of divorce and or loss of a relationship: non communication of feelings!!!

If a woman is smart enough she can easily ask the right questions and see via body language how her partner feels. Some women cannot communicate properly also and a lot of it has to do with individual life experience or a comfort level in a relationship.

It would have been easier for everybody if they talk about their feelings and emotions. But, so far as per my knowledge if you could read their eyes, its all there in it. Eyes are the mirror of the soul, they never lies. even if you can not talk to each other, your eyes talk to each other. And you can know what's inside. But life is too short, why regret later that you did not say anything about your feelings. what worst could happen? rejection? Trust me you will feel good about it that at least you tell them. It's way better than not knowing.

I wish it were easier for guys to tell us what they want, to be honest and direct and stop playing games and sending mixed signals. If that means opening up your feelings, then I guess so.

No not really, with my husband it would be kinda scary if he did. I like a man to have some sort of mystery about him. If they open up what would be the result, most likely it would upset the woman.
