If this situation happens often, you could take some portable voice-recorder with you, so you can record everything your colleague says, if it's legal in your country. Also you can ask some other colleagues who've heard that to be witnesses if needed. But you'll have to contact your attorney first anyway.

Does your organization have an employee policies and procedures manual? I would check that document first, then I would strongly recommend that you 1) document the incident, note the date/time and the nature of the situation; 2) notify your immediate supervisor/boss as well as document that notification, 3) notify your HR department. This documentation will provide credability to your situation as well as provide details how you follwed the chain of command. If there is no employee manual and no HR department, still having this information will be valuable as you consider further action including contacting an attorney for assistance.

If you boss does nothing, he/she is contributing to a hostile work environment. Document occurrances of the abuse and your discussions with your boss. You would be right in getting an attorney.

Tell your boss that if he does not repremant her you will have to call the police and have a report filed and have her charged with harrassment and verbal abuse, tell him that this is the only option that you feel you have left, I am sure he would not like the negative attention and all the days she would miss appering in court.

If you can get an attorney that will take the case and get paid only if he wins. It might be wise to associate with better people...

You are severly under appreciated by your employer & he obviously doesn't care how his employee's act. Find another job, & don't give yourself any excuses not to. You are the more intelligent person for not stooping to a level of pettyness, move on & find an employer that will appreciate you for your qualities..Pleeeaase. Just let it go & be the better person.
