It is possible if you have the right setup.

1. You need a Series 2 TiVo (DirecTV units won't work) that is hooked up to your home network.

2. Download and install TiVo Desktop software to your laptop.

3. Copy your recorded shows to your laptop with the TiVo Desktop software.

4. You can view the shows using Windows Media Player on your laptop.

Caveat: Video can be pretty demanding on your computer. Your laptop should be a recent one -- at least 1 gHz CPU.
