I think you should report the pet shop. Selling an unweaned animal cannot be in its best interests.

The pet shop should never have sold you the rabbit if it hasn't been weaned. I used to breed rabbits, and wouldn't sell them until they were at least 6 weeks old. The doe's (mother) milk usually dries up after 3-4 weeks, and the babies would be eating hard food from this time anyway. If you've only just got it, it may take a day or so for it to settle in. However, a trick I used when a rabbit went off its food was to syringe a small amount of natural yoghurt into its mouth - this seems to bring their appetite back quite quickly. If you really want to syringe feed it milk(which I wouldn't advise because it must surely be too old for this) then I found goats milk the best.

KMR!!!!!!! Bunny milk is very unique and specialized so make sure you only give that baby milk meant for BUNNIES!!! KMR you can pick up at most pet stores...it is also kitten milk replacer!!! I honestly bred rabbits for YEARS in 4-H
(Sometimes we had 40 Rabbits!) Feed them with a tiny, bitty eye dropper or try using a a piece of dried bread soaked in the mild replacer. You really shouldn't have bought a baby bunny, this small...you should report this pet store to the humane society because odds are, its illegal to sell baby animals before 6 or 8 weeks of age!

they should not be taken away from the mother until they are at least 6 weeks old 8 weeks is better but at 6 weeks you do not need to feed them as they would have started eating proper food. try some baby milk in the water dish and watch to see if it drinks it , if they are taken away to soon it is cruel and the pet shop should be reported for doing such a thing. if the baby rabbit is to young there is a good chance of it dieing on you.

Hi, please ring your local rescue and find out what they would recommend. Baby bunnies are extremely vulnerable to illness and gut stastis( where the gut stops working ) and can die quickly. I work at a shelter and they use excel pellets mixed with water to make a runny porridge and syringe that every few hours and you must stroke their stomachs to encourage defacating and weeing but please get the baby checked first by the vet and ask their advise and double check with a rescue who deal mainly with bunnies. Also the rabbit welfare association could help. I'm afraid my experience is limited as I'm new, but can remember seeing them do this, but obviously check with someone experienced as soon as possible. I hope everything goes well for you and your bunny. Good luck.

you should take it back to the shop and ask for your money back so the baby rabbit can be with its mother , but by now she would probable kill it as it has been away from her for to long now , you are just as bad as the persn that sold it , if you are lucky it will not die if it is old enough. it should be at least 6 weks old before it is taken from the mother

Call your vet he will be able to tell you what you need to get right over the phone. Its like a baby formula you can mix. But the vet should be able to tell you how much and how offen. Good luck.
