Well since the economy is "slowing down" there should be alot of unemployed reindeer roaming around.

I would let the current workers strike then hire in new guys for the big night. If they wanted a new contract they should have started negotiations last January.

The cookies will be right where we left them last year.

Get ahold of the Head Elf at the Reindeers Union, maybe he can work something out with Santa before the contracts up. They DEFINITELY want to avoid a strike this time of year!

Tell them that the robotic reindeer are just about ready to deploy, but if they will pay for 50% of their health insurance and accept a 10% wage cut, you will not deploy the robotics until they retire.
